Celebrating Excellence on Wednesday, June 5

To the members of the MIT community:

Each year in June, we gather in Kresge Auditorium to recognize the recipients of the MIT Excellence Awards + Collier Medal, MIT Staff Award for Distinction in Service, and Gordon Y. Billard Award. I hope you will join me at this year’s celebration event, at which we will honor the 2024 awardees for their dedication, creativity, professionalism, and community spirit.

The Excellence Awards recognize staff for the many ways they contribute to fulfilling the mission and vision of MIT. The Collier Medal honors the memory of Officer Sean Collier, who gave his life protecting and serving the MIT community; recipients embody Officer Collier’s dedication and collegiality. The Staff Award for Distinction in Service recognizes those who actively engage in building community at MIT, through large or small actions. And the Gordon Y. Billard Award honors those who have made important, lasting, and wide-ranging contributions to the MIT community.
