New features in Research@MIT app

Dear colleagues,

Now may be the best time to download and try the new Research@MIT app.

Research@MIT provides a visual “PI dashboard” on your computer or handheld device. In addition to displaying all your sponsored research accounts in one place, the app now includes your non-sponsored accounts, too. Your startup funding, gifts, and discretionary accounts are all visible with drill-down capability, alongside your sponsored awards, allowing you to monitor available funds and expenses incurred.

Research@MIT allows you to view:

• Awards and their status
• Available funds for each of your active sponsored research awards and non-sponsored accounts
• Drill-down views into categories of expenses incurred to date
• The status of your proposals submitted by MIT to potential sponsors
• Human-subjects (COUHES) protocols and their status
• The status of requested non-disclosure and data-use agreements (NDAs and DUAs)

Financial primary authorizers also have the ability to delegate access to an approved departmental administrator. New features are added regularly.

In fact, there is another reason you may wish to become familiar with the app now. Later this summer, the Technology Licensing Office (TLO) will deploy a new invention disclosure interface, using Research@MIT to replace the outdated form currently used. At that point, all new invention disclosures will be submitted through the app.
