Dear MIT faculty and staff,
I write to invite you to tune in to the Closing Plenary livestream of Virtual Solve Challenge Finals 2020 on Tuesday, September 29, 3:30–5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Please register to attend.
This session will feature:
- Sal Khan, founder and CEO of Khan Academy, on the future of learning
- Harry Moseley, global CIO of Zoom, on how remote technology can power inclusive workforces
- Dalila Wilson-Scott, SVP of community impact at Comcast and president of Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, on building equitable pathways to economic mobility
- Madame Gandhi, electronic music producer, artist, and activist, for two powerful performances and a reflection on gender liberation and representation
- The announcement of the 2020 Solver teams and Indigenous Communities Fellows, who will be selected from more than 2,600 applications to MIT Solve’s 2020 Global Challenges and will access over $2 million in funding
In addition to watching this session live, I encourage you to explore how you can engage with Solve:
- Co-design the 2021 Solve Challenges during the Faculty and Staff Challenge Design Workshop on October 21.
- Vote for Solve finalists. The finalist from each challenge with the most votes will receive a $2,000 Community Award.
- Volunteer to mentor one of the selected 2020 Solver teams over the next nine months.
- Recommend corporate or nonprofit colleagues to join the Solve member community.
- If you have more ideas on how you, your department, or your initiative can further engage with Solve, contact solve@mit.edu.

I hope you’ll join me for the Solve Challenge Finals Closing Plenary. Don't forget to register!
